About The Position

The Sterile Processing Instrument Coordinator at UofL Health is responsible for maintaining the quality and efficiency of instrument inventory and tracking systems to support patient care. This role involves data collection, process improvement, and collaboration with various departments to ensure optimal instrument management and compliance with health standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience as an SPD Tech, surgical tech, or similar role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis skills.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of instrument tracking systems, preferably Premier.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Help purchase and maintain inventory levels for supplies and instrumentation as needed.
  • Maintain the instrument tracking system and assist with ordering new instrumentation.
  • Create and maintain an organized work area for efficient receiving and storage of supplies/instruments.
  • Collaborate with leadership on process improvement and data collection for efficiency.
  • Serve as a communication point for SPD staff, OR staff, and vendors.
