About The Position

The Sterile Processing Endoscopy Tech at Intermountain Healthcare is responsible for the proper management of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment within the hospital. This includes tasks such as decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, packaging, sterilizing, storing, distributing, and tracking these items to ensure quality and timely availability for surgical procedures. The role requires the ability to work independently and efficiently, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) within one year of hire date.
  • Entry-level position with previous Endoscopy training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments.
  • Assemble, protect, wrap, contain, peel pack and label surgical instruments.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Pull case carts as needed.
  • Clean, troubleshoot and correctly use CP equipment.
  • Perform and record all biological and chemical sterilization tests.
  • Issue and receive durable, moveable clinical equipment.
  • Issue sterile supplies to using areas.
  • Perform inventory duties as required.
  • Verify that all sterilization processes have been completed and met parameters before making equipment available for use.
