Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, being concise by phone and in person.
  • One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting or Certificate of Completion in Hospital Central Service Technology from an accredited educational institution is optional, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated activities to support the entire operations of CSPD.
  • Decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading instruments and trays to and from the washer disinfector and cart washer respectively.
  • Assists with case cart assembly.
  • Transportation of sterilized items to the operating room for storage or patient use.
  • Restocking sterile storage areas.
  • Breaks down shipping and delivery boxes in the department.
