Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility preferred.
• Must be friendly, outgoing, and 'people oriented.'
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties.
• Telephone and computer skills are necessary.
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept change.
• Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and organization are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctor and other hospital staff by care and cleaning of patients and facilities.
• Complete patient treatments.
• Assist in surgery and all other animal care functions.
• Perform tasks involved in the operations of a veterinary hospital.
• Clean surgical instruments.
• Prepare surgical packs and PPE for sterilization.
• Properly set up and run sterilization equipment - gas sterilizer and autoclave.
• Decontaminate and clean operating rooms after surgical procedures.
• Set up operating rooms for next procedure.
• Maintain proper stock of surgical supplies in pack area and surgical suites.
• Patient restraint for IVC placement/induction.
• Assist with sterile patient prep.
• Assist with Rechecks and Consults.
