About The Position

Requirements

  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician License
  • Sterile IV Certification
  • 2 years of experience as an Infusion Pharmacy Technician
  • Excellent sterile compounding technique
  • Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work as a team and help wherever needed
  • Computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft programs

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of specialty drugs, sterile compounded and high-risk medications, non-sterile compounded medications, home medical equipment, and ancillary supplies.
  • Coordinate with the pharmacist in the preparation of sterile admixtures and home medical equipment orders.
  • Assemble and stage production orders to be filled.
  • Organize assigned workload to facilitate its accomplishment.
  • Complete all calculations on product preparation and obtain validation from the pharmacist before compounding/mixing.
  • Compound sterile admixtures and non-admixtures using aseptic technique where state laws permit.
  • Prepare labels, prescription, compounding/mixing worksheets, and maintain product lot numbers and expiration dates and batch records.
  • Generate delivery/pick slips under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Pick and pull supplies and home medical equipment.
  • Ensure compounding/clean room areas and related equipment are cleaned and sanitized in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all necessary quality control tests and procedures for compounded products and report positive results to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Monitor inventory and maintain records for home medical equipment.
  • Communicate with patients/clients regarding supply inventories and relay information to the pharmacist as required.
  • Participate in branch management, department, and intra-departmental meetings and quality improvement activities as requested.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards for infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
