About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Site Services Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1+ years of prior work experience required, experience in material handling and/or working in a clean-room environment is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work in controlled environments and follow strict compliance procedures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom gowning attire for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to handle packaged garments and inventory materials.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Clear communication and customer service orientation.
  • Problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in any inventory management, warehousing, or cleanroom garment handling preferred.
  • Prior experience in sterile lab or cleanroom environments (pharma, biotech, medical device).
  • Knowledge of GMP, GDP, contamination control, or gowning requirements.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP tools.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily sterile garment inventory levels for all sizes and gowning components.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies in accordance with SOPs.
  • Track garment usage, trends, and consumption to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate records within inventory management systems or customer platforms.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify sterile garment deliveries for correct quantities and lot integrity.
  • Ensure all garments meet sterility requirements and are stored according to established procedures.
  • Manage expiration dates, lot controls, and rotation of inventory (FIFO).
  • Follow all cleanroom protocols, gowning requirements, and contamination‑control standards.
  • Restock gowning rooms and point‑of‑use (POU) areas with appropriate garment quantities.
  • Respond to urgent garment needs or special requests from cleanroom personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit‑ready garment storage area.
  • Communicate proactively with the customer regarding garment availability or issues.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Quality, Warehouse, Cleanroom Operations).
  • Identify process gaps or opportunities for inventory optimization.
