About The Position

This position is located in Sterilization, College of Dentistry and has the responsibility for cleaning dental instruments and the preparation of them for sterilization. The incumbent operates and maintains a variety of sterilization equipment. Dispensing clean instruments to dental students and departments, using computer program Axium and the INFO-DOT process. Collecting, tracking, and processing dirty instruments according to sterilization protocol. Disinfecting and sterilizing dental instruments for all UFCD dental students and the UFCD dental clinics. Replacing broken or missing instruments for UFCD dental students. Recording incoming and outgoing instruments from students and departments. Oiling and maintaining instruments. Checking bur blocks for burs that need to be replaced because of wear or because the bur has been discarded. Requires critical attention to detail. Maintaining office supplies inventory. Labeling and scanning with the Axium program. In-service training (updates, new sterilization techniques, and computer classes). Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
