About The Position

The STEPS Copy Editor will play a key role in developing, refining, and producing high-quality written content for the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Extension. This position involves , editing, and proofreading materials across multiple platforms, including print publications. This role will ensure that all content is clear, engaging, and appropriate for the target audience's reading level.

Requirements

• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with educational or Extension content is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Edit written content for a variety of communication channels, including print publications.
• Ensure all written materials are accurate, well-structured, and tailored to the appropriate audience.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex information into accessible and engaging content.
• Support the FCS Extension peer review process for educational publications and curriculum materials as needed.
• Work closely with the FCS Communications team, including graphic designers and IT professionals, to produce educational materials.
• Maintain consistency in tone, style, and branding across all FCS Extension publications.
