About The Position

We are seeking a Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse, sometimes referred to as a CCU RN. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to patients who are recovering from cardiac conditions, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. The Stepdown Unit RN or Cardiac Care RN bridges the gap between intensive care and med/surg. Requirements

  • Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State
  • BCLS upon hire and maintain current
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred
  • One year as a Staff RN in an Acute Care Hospital preferred
  • CCRN preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • monitor patients' cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities, heart attacks, or other cardiac conditions
  • administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications
  • perform assessments of patients' cardiac status, including physical assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate symptoms
  • provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices
  • React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, necessitating immediate implementation of emergency procedures, administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and aiding in defibrillation and other crucial life-saving measures
