About The Position

Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – 2887584 We are seeking experienced Stepdown Registered Nurses (RNs) for a contract assignment in an acute care hospital setting. This role is ideal for nurses comfortable managing high-acuity patients transitioning from ICU who require continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring. Local and travel RNs are welcome to apply.

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact as applicable)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Stepdown, PCU, or ICU experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and titratable drips required
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts (days or nights based on availability)
• Employment Type: Contract (not permanent)
• Travel nurses welcome – travel packages available

Nice To Haves

• PCCN preferred (not required unless facility mandates it)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer IV medications and titrate cardiac drips as ordered
• Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Communicate clinical changes to physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support and supervise nursing assistants as needed
