About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a Step Down Registered Nurse to who will independently in our Cardiac Specialty Unit performing the functions of direct patient care. You will utilize the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. You will also work in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs. Requirements
- Step Down Registered Nurse requires advanced professional knowledge in own field and basic knowledge of related fields - Knowledgeable of industry best practices and regulations
- Acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead projects - Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions
- Impacts customer, operational, project, or service activities within own and related teams - Works independently with minimal guidance
- Explains difficult information and works to build consensus
- Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Two or more years of recent critical care experience.
- Current AHA BLS Certification.
- Current AHA ACLS Certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge.

- Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master’s degree)
- CCRN preferred
- Additional languages preferred.
Responsibilities
- Independently performing the functions of direct patient care
- Utilizing the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care
- Working in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs
- Overseeing patient care team and coordinates care plan
- Accountable for patient care meeting safety, effectiveness, and patient rights standards
- Prescribing, delegates, and coordinates patient care using nursing skills and evidence-based guidelines
- Providing education and facilitates learning for patients, families, and team members
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plan
- Advocating for patient and resolves ethical and clinical concerns
- Accurately documenting patient encounters and protects patient health information
- Adhering to infection prevention initiatives
- Delivering competent care with emphasis on good customer relations and evidence-based practice
- Continuously evaluating patient condition and collaborates with healthcare team
- Managing environmental and system resources for patients and families.
