JOB MISSION The YPIE programs are focused on preparing students with the academic and life skills needed for college success. The more ready students are for college, the higher the likelihood theyll succeed. YPIE is seeking an After School Instructor with teaching certification to help students learn key academic math and science skills that will prepare them for college success. This part time role will be based in Jersey City, NJ.

• Proven organizational and program tracking skills.
• An outcomes-focused orientation and experience.

Nice To Haves

• A teaching certification or certificate of eligibility in high school math or science.
• Experience working with, tracking, and analyzing data to target student support and evaluate effectiveness.
• Bilingual fluency in a language spoken by our YPIE Jersey City families.

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor afterschool in the following areas: Academic Teaching: Plan and execute daily academic lessons and tutoring sessions to ensure students improve their academic skills in core subject areas, focusing on high school math and science, primarily: algebra, geometry, biology, and chemistry.
• Career Major: Support one or more career-pathway programs such as Healthcare or Science Research (YPIE Majors) with the goal of each student submitting to an external competition or partnership.
