The Morris School District, NJ is seeking a dynamic and innovative Middle School Tech Ed-STEM Teacher to design and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Engineering, and Robotics. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through project-based learning (PBL), engineering design challenges, and real-world applications of STEM concepts.

  • Develop and implement an engaging STEM elective curriculum aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), 21st Century, and Technology Education Standards.
  • Design and facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based projects that encourage exploration, experimentation, and innovation.
  • Integrate engineering design processes, coding, robotics, makerspace activities, and technology tools into instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special education and ELL accommodations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular STEM integration.
  • Create a student-centered, inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity and problem-solving.
  • Utilize technology, 3D printing, coding platforms, and digital tools to enhance STEM learning experiences.
  • Guide students in designing, building, and testing prototypes through engineering and scientific inquiry.
  • Facilitate collaborative teamwork and real-world problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain records of student performance and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Support STEM-related clubs, competitions, or after-school programs (e.g., TSA, robotics club, science fairs, coding challenges).
  • Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Technology Education or STEM.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Engineering, Technology, or a STEM-related field.
  • Experience with project-based learning (PBL), coding, robotics, makerspaces, or engineering design challenges.
  • Proficiency with STEM-related tools (e.g., Tinkercad, Arduino, Scratch, 3D printing, CAD software).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Endorsement in STEM Education, Technology, or Engineering.
