The Junior High STEM Teacher is responsible for delivering an integrated curriculum in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to students in grades 7-8. This role fosters inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and innovation through engaging, hands-on lessons that connect academic content to real-world applications. The teacher creates a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and academic growth in a supportive environment.

  • Design and implement daily lesson plans that integrate STEM disciplines and align with state and national standards.
  • Create project-based learning experiences that encourage problem-solving, experimentation, and application of STEM concepts.
  • Use instructional technology and digital tools including TechSmart, Google Classroom, and robotics software to enhance learning and student engagement.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and advanced learners.
  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture that supports student voice and collaboration.
  • Participate in professional development activities and collaborate with colleagues to advance STEM integration across the curriculum.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.
  • Serve as a positive role model and support the school's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements in middle grades science and/or mathematics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related area.
