About Us: East Brainerd Elementary School, located in a vibrant community, is a large public school dedicated to providing exceptional education to a diverse student body of over 1100 students. Our school will be launching a Volkswagen eLab in the 2026-2027 school year, and we seek an innovative educator to join our existing STEM teacher in launching this program to reach our student body. Requirements

  • Committed to high academic achievement and high expectations for all students
  • Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families
  • Open to being coached and receiving feedback in order to advance learning and growth for students
  • Professional with high personal standards and integrity
  • Teaching candidate must hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Elementary Education or Computer Science or be an an upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program.
  • If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must apply for a Tennessee teaching license.
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Learning - Deeply understand the Tennessee Science Standards and establish clear learning targets for every lesson.
  • Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently engage students with science and engineering practices (SEPs).

  • Professional Responsibilities: Actively participates in professional learning communities (PLCs) with colleagues in order to improve teaching and student learning.
