About The Position

The Dayton Regional STEM School is seeking an innovative and creative elementary level teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The Fitness, Health, and SEL teacher will lead the Innovators in Action class, focusing on social-emotional learning through active play and movement activities. The role emphasizes developing self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making in a fun and engaging environment, incorporating outdoor experiences to connect students with nature.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Licensure or alternative licensure obtained by Aug 1, 2025

• Experience with elementary aged students
• PBL experience

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver course instruction for elementary school students
• Provide instruction, support, and supervision to elementary school students
• Foster a motivating, supportive, learning-centered culture of excellence in a well-structured and managed classroom
• Use project-based and inquiry-based methodologies in instruction
• Collaborate with other teachers to develop and refine content and materials for courses
• Utilize instructional resources and technologies to improve educational quality
• Engage in continuous reflection on teaching practices and adapt methods as needed
• Participate in building leadership activities and contribute as a team player
• Participate in the curriculum development process throughout employment
• Attend various meetings (including IEPs, conferences, etc.) and professional development opportunities
• Maintain contact and communication with parents and students
