About The Position

We are looking for a STEM Enrichment Lead Instructor to join our team at the Y! We spend our days positively impacting the community around us. We help children reach their potential, enact age appropriate goals, and we change lives in our Y community.

Requirements

• 21+ preferred
• Degree (or credits towards a degree) in a related STEM field
• 2+ years experience working with children
• Current or prior experience in education, recreation, child psychology or related fields

Responsibilities

• Implementing lesson plans provided by the director with an enthusiastic approach and energy in order to spark a child's learning through a variety of unique mediums, including robotics, technical reading, and the extraordinary world of Legos
• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes that accomplish the YMCA mission and goals
• Ensures classes are executed to meet the needs of all ages, levels and abilities of children and adjust plans as needed to accommodate every member of the class
• Be able to travel to different sites and help transport supplies/equipment
• Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures; provide care in an emergency, document all incidents and accidents and report to your supervisor
• Attend training, organizational and staff meetings as requested by your supervisor
