LICENSED VACANCY Position is for Summer 2026 POSITION: STEM Camp Coordinator LOCATION: District PAY RANGE: hourly rate corresponding to salary per the negotiated contract CALENDAR: Performance Agreement Dates include planning through Close-out: Mid-February � June 15th, 2026 Time: As needed to meet all deadlines (outside of regular school hours) Planning/PD Dates: May 21st, 2026, 4:00-6:30pm (outside of regular school hours), June 5th, 2026, time variable for set up of the program Summer Institute Dates: June 8th through June 12th, 2026 Coordinator must be available during STEM Camp dates from 7:00am to 3:30pm every day and available through June 15th, 2026 (no time conflicts permitted) REPORTS TO: Multilingual Learner Coordinator or Director of Teaching and Learning NEWCOMER SUMMER INSTITUTE OVERVIEW: The STEM Camp is an in-person enrichment program for Newcomer multilingual students in high needs grades geared toward language development alongside content to support and prepare students for their upcoming school year. Requirements

  • Must be a current Mapleton Public Schools employee.
  • A current (active) Colorado teaching license.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) to effectively communicate throughout the registration process with students, families, and district staff in a friendly, culturally sensitive manner.
  • Strong organizational skills to facilitate all planning related � but not limited � to: Instruction (e.g., teacher training, co-planning, instruction, and record-keeping), Health Needs (e.g., health questionnaire), Location (e.g., district planning with specific room reservations), Nutrition Services (e.g., accurate & timely breakfast/lunch counts), and Transportation (e.g., accurate & timely contact information to create the transportation schedule)
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of planning and communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior administrative experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish or Dari preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the District Multilingual Program Coordinator to establish timelines, schedules, procedures, and resources for the STEM Camp to ensure all policies and procedures are in alignment and any necessary authorizations have been secured.
  • Support hiring teachers for in-person classes during the STEM Camp.
  • Facilitate curriculum co-planning sessions with teaching staff during May 2026 and afternoon professional development in the afternoons during the STEM Camp.
  • Coordinate a thematically linked field experience for the STEM Camp, including arranging for transportation and sack lunches (mid-April deadline, TBD).
  • Coordinate the timely distribution of recruitment and registration materials (flyers, brochures, health questionnaire, etc.) to all newcomer identified students and their families to include all procedures and communication with families throughout the registration process, including the timely confirmation of enrollment.
  • Collaborate with the Transportation Department to secure the necessary student transportation (final student list with names and addresses is due to Transportation by mid date TBD, @ noon) as well as collaborate with Nutrition Services to secure breakfast and lunch, including sack lunches for the field experience as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Department to publicize and document the STEM Camp
  • Coordinate the distribution and collection of STEM Camp materials to all participants (e.g., instructional materials, t-shirts, recycled materials for course projects, etc.) to include ordering of additional supplies and materials with Teaching & Learning Services.
  • Provide orientation for all STEM Camp staff members (e.g., expectations, curriculum training, co-planning, etc.) and supervise all aspects of the STEM Camp and its daily activities, including staff and students, to ensure a safe, secure, and enriching experience for everyone.
  • Supervise the organization and staffing needed to chaperone the field experience.
  • Coordinate the close-out (e.g., clean-up, pack-up and delivery) of all STEM Camp materials to Teaching & Learning Services.
