Steering Systems Design and Release Engineer

Design and Release Engineering Role supporting the development of Steering Systems that meet highest quality and functional requirements. Validate and release mechanical hardware designs for current production and/or forward model steering systems in major and minor Ford programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 2 years of steering systems experience in an automotive domain or similar.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Computer-literate (Excel; Word; PowerPoint; etc.).
- Well-respected within their organizations.
- Strong leadership skills – inherent self-starter, self-motivated and strong drive for results.

- Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and component supplier plants when required
Responsibilities
- Work with suppliers to develop, design, and release EPAS mechanicals (gear, assist mechanism).
- Communicate with Suppliers, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Program Management, CAD designers, release analysts, etc., to get changes processed.
- Problem solve design, manufacturing, and quality issues.
- Responsible for failure mode avoidance documentation (boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, DFMEA’s, etc.)
- Sign-off drawings, DVP’s, PVP’s, DVP&R’s, PVP&R’s.
