About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrical Engineer responsible for the steering electrical quality and warranty performance at Ford. This includes leading the supplier through root cause analysis of electrical issues for REPAS (Rack Electric Power Assist System) and CEPAS (Column Electric Power Assist System). The successful candidate will be a key driver in ensuring product reliability and resolving field issues worldwide. Proficiency in printed circuit board assembly processes, specifically Surface Mount Technology (SMT) soldering, Through-Hole Technology soldering, and conformal coating applications. Expertise in Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), including the ability to analyze complex circuits, interpret schematics, and provide recommendations for resolving quality issues. Familiarity with environmental electronics validation methodologies. Strong understanding of Electrical Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Adept at interpreting Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and leveraging this knowledge to precisely pinpoint issues within printed circuit board assemblies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading complex root cause analysis of electrical issues and problem-solving initiatives (e.g., 8D, 5 Why).
  • Proven capability to develop and implement highly effective corrective actions.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the supplier warranty team in resolving steering electrical warranty issues.
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement in the warranty performance of steering column EPAS and gear EPAS.
  • Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis for customer field claims and concerns.
  • Develop, implement, and track the effectiveness of Interim and Permanent Corrective Actions (ICAs/PCAs) to address identified electrical issues.
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for the resolution of electrical field claims.
