About The Position

In an exciting and challenging environment, the Steelpourer, under general
supervision, performs daily and other related duties following established
practices set forth in the Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instructions
manuals.

Requirements

• Minimum High School graduate or equivalent G.E.D.
• Must be clean shaven and remain without facial hair that will interfere with the surface area covered by the required N-95 respirator.
• Theoretical Steelmaking Course, 80% overall score preferred.
• 80 hours experience as a qualified crane operator and must satisfactorily complete the EQS Crane Training Program.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with liquid steel on a daily basis is preferred.
• One (1) year experience in Bottom Pour preferred.
• Certification in remote crane operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates remote control crane as required
• Bricks plates and sets hot tops
• While performing duties in the West Bay, is solely responsible for stripping and tagging of all ingots on his/her shift in that area.
• While in the West Bay is responsible for guiding the West Bay Laborer in necessary tasks.
• Performs minor repairs and cleaning of hardware
• Adds necessary materials for complete mold set-up
• Inspects mold set-ups for mold size, hot top setting, and workmanship
• Places flux in molds and heat number tag on molds
• Opens ladles and regulates flow rate taking stream samples, jominy, lollipop and hydrogen pins
• Pours overpours
• Maintains teeming platform and ladle make-up stand stock
• Services ladles by replacing nozzles, plates, etc.
• Completes teeming reports, mold flailing tracking and updates ladle book.
• Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
• Must have ability and desire to work well with others.
• Meets attendance requirements.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
