Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience in a warehouse or production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, identify, stock, sample and issue raw material such, as bar stock, to be used for various production requirements.
  • Need knowledge of or can be trained to specific material types/conditions as they relate to the operation of Steel Stores equipment such as automatic saws.
  • Will operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, fork trucks, side loader, overhead cranes, fork truck with jib boom, crane scale, Johnson bar, bander, slings and straps.
  • Use mainframe computer systems to perform verifications, corrections, receipts, issues, work-in-process moves and purchase requisitions.
  • May be required to perform setups on and operate a centerless grinder. When working on this equipment, you must determine proper speeds, feeds and operating sequence, and dress wheels to hold extremely tight tolerances and finishes.
  • Work from blueprints, operation sheets and verbal instructions and to inspect own work using diatest, V-blocks, profilometers and Etalon micrometers.
