About The Position

With a safety-first approach, will be responsible for analyzing, modifying, and upgrading existing processes and procedures. Ensure daily production requirements are met, product and production variability is in check, and that quality standards remain high. This job is in SOUTH CAROLINA. Please apply if you are OK about living and working in South Carolina. This employer will pay to relocate you. This is a great opportunity to get into plant operations / plant management for someone who is currently a process engineer or quality engineer in a rolling mill. Recommend improvements that improve quality and safety. Help write specifications for capital projects, deal with vendors or contractors. Will help develop and maintain the operations budget. Develop production procedures, evaluate production numbers for variability Will work toward continuous improvement of safety and output. Oversee shift supervisors to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed quality requirements. Schedule preventive maintenance, inspections, equipment overhaul.

Requirements

  • Must have at least five years of hands-on engineering experience in a rolling mill, as a production supervisor, process engineer, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s degree is expected but is not an absolute requirement.
  • Must have in-depth technical knowledge about rolling mills and metals rolling.
  • To qualify, you must have experience in production supervision in steel-making or other metals manufacturing that involves a rolling mill.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Steel or aluminum mill experience is preferred.
  • Some experience is preferred in methods development, production procedures, and process improvements.
