About The Position
Met-Con, Inc., a rapidly growing structural steel fabrication and erection company, is seeking a full-time Steel Material Handler for their Cocoa, Florida location. This role supports the fabrication shop with various duties such as loading and unloading steel from trucks, operating an overhead crane, transferring steel to production tables, and operating a forklift. The successful candidate will also be able to perform rigging work to move material as required and may perform other duties to support the fabrication shop.
Requirements
- Must be experienced operating overhead cranes
- Load and unload structural steel outdoors
- Must be experienced using and operating a forklift
- Basic math skills are required
- Must be able to stand on feet for up to 8 to 10 hours
- Must be organized and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Support the fabrication shop with various duties
- Load and unload steel from trucks
- Operate an overhead crane
- Transfer steel to production tables
- Operate a forklift
- Perform rigging work to move material as required
- Perform other duties as required to support the fabrication shop not specifically mentioned above
- Work in compliance with Met-Con's safety policies and procedures
- Work as part of a team to ensure achievement of Company goals
