This position may be responsible for leading, training and developing, a crew of up to (60) skilled trade personnel in ship repair and maintenance of US Navy, USCG, and commercial ships. They will be responsible for attaining Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost performance objectives that ensure positive predictable results. At times they will work with the Project Manager and/or Project Coordinator as well as the other trades to deconflict work and maintain schedule. They will support/attend project meetings as required. Carries out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and all applicable laws or regulations. Responsibilities to include – · Training employees. · Planning, assigning, and directing the workforce. · Assist craft manager appraising performance, skill. · Rewarding and disciplining employees when appropriate. · Correcting unacceptable behaviors. · Addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with company policy. Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company. Will be responsible to grow continuity and develop our ship repair organization. Manage various facets of the shipyard Steel department including but not limited to installing ships foundations, regulating, and erecting modular assemblies, vessel conversions, paint abatements & Firewatch per OSHA/ FMR rules and policies.
