About The Position

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking detail-oriented candidates for the position of Steel Detailer/ BIM Modeler. This full-time role is responsible for drafting all components of a custom metal building including the steel framing, wall panel systems, roof panel systems, and all associated flashings and trims to ensure all components fit together correctly as part of a complete design solution.

Requirements

• Ability to visualize in a 3D environment.
• High school Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be seeking full-time employment. No part-time roles available at this time.

Nice To Haves

• Accredited training, certification, or professional experience operating Architectural CAD software or 3D Modeling software.
• Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D Models of Custom Building Systems using advanced 3D drafting software to model structural steel framing, wall systems, roof systems, and associated trim to ensure all parts fit seamlessly together.
• Produce Erection Drawings & Material Lists by generating accurate, construction-ready erection drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD and/or Tekla, ensuring field crews have what they need for efficient builds.
• Develop Shop Drawings for Fabrication by creating detailed fabrication reports and shop drawings used by our in-house production teams to build structural components with precision.
• Review & Check Detailing Work by assisting in quality checking the work of other detailers — from simple to complex projects — to maintain high accuracy and design integrity.
