About The Position

As a Steam Turbine Engineer - Power Generation Systems, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our energy systems. You'll provide advanced engineering and analytical expertise to support the design and evolution of long-range generation system plans, while also leading engineering initiatives and offering strategic insights that help drive sustainable energy solutions. As a Steam Turbine Engineer, you will be charged with accurately scoping outages and responding to emergent plant needs regarding their Steam Turbines, Steam Turbine Valves, and supporting system. Your work will involve solving complex problems, making informed technical decisions, and serving as a trusted advisor to internal teams and stakeholders. The Steam Turbine Engineer III is responsible for being the technical conscience of the fleet through the application of mechanical engineering principles and leveraging analytics to create data driven solutions. The Senior Steam Turbine Engineer is at the advanced level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. They solve complex problems, manage work, and develop innovative ways to streamline process. Senior Engineers are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • A four-year bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Steam Turbine Engineer III.
  • Eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Steam Turbine Engineer Senior.

Nice To Haves

  • Problem analysis/resolution techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical assessments and economic evaluations of generation systems to inform long-range planning and decision-making.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles to support the design and optimization of generation infrastructure projects.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on engineering tasks, supporting project execution from concept through implementation.
  • Analyze operational and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for system improvement.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including planning, operations, and finance, to align engineering outputs with business goals.
  • Offer technical support and direction to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Take ownership of engineering interpretations and recommendations, making informed decisions that support organizational strategy.
