About The Position

Join the City of Wentzville Parks & Recreation Department as a STEAM Coordinator, where you’ll bring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math to life through engaging programs, workshops, events, and camps. • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Thorough understanding of the processes, protocols, and procedures used in administering STEAM programs, including planning and budgeting.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis, keep budgetary records, and evaluate information against a set of standards.
• Ability to lead a team and develop individual team members.
• Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, subordinates, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
• Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and others, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to make quality decisions that impact the team and direction of project work.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in STEAM programming with direct eSports experience preferred.
• First-aid/CPR certification preferred, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day STEAM programs and activities
• Design fun, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and growth
• Guide and support part-time staff, instructors, contractors, and volunteers
• Build partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and industry leaders
• Connect participants to STEAM education and career pathways
• Assist with budgeting, supplies, grants, and program revenue
• Ensure a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all
