Position Summary and Responsibilities: The primary purpose of this position is to operate a meat cutting machine to prepare meat for packing. Load machine with meat and monitor to ensure the cut matches customer specifications. Maintain yields and portion control. Follow daily production activities assigned by the production supervisor and team leader. Assist employees with job duties when needed. Communicate between departments when needed. Utilize machine to cut various types of beef products. As production demand varies, all cutting machine operators are expected to have hour and day flexibility. Perform other duties, as assigned. Maintain all work surfaces, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized. Keep up with all assigned duties on a daily basis. Complete daily preventative maintenance of cutting machines. Always follow the USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and Ben E. Keith’s food safety rules and regulations. Always follow the Ben E. Keith employee safety rules and regulations such as Lock Out Tag Out. Wear the required protective and food safety equipment at all times while in the production area.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Basic math knowledge.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet all day and work in a cold (32-40º) environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with different meats and cuts a plus.
  • Experience operating a cutting machine helpful, but not required. Marel experience a plus.
