About The Position

Machinist 1 is responsible for machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and ensuring parts meet all required specifications and tolerances. This position supports operators and works closely with quality personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year machining experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Nice To Haves

• CNC operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surface Grind-Achieve and maintain tolerances less than .0005 independently (Stand Alone)
• STC/Mill (Stand Alone)
• Surface Grind with setup achieve critical dimensions with supervisor assistance along with Setup of CNC Slice and Core Drill operations in the Disc Cell OR Setup of DCM and CNC Slice operations in the REC Cell.
• Achieve and maintain tolerances less than .0005 independently for MWS/SPLAP, STC, Surface Grind, or Cylindrical Grind (tolerances greater than .0005 independently)
• Monitor and improve process efficiencies.
• Assist with root cause analysis and defect reduction.
• Train and mentor Operators 1 and 2.
• Assistance for setup with G Code changes.
• Ensure all processes meet quality and safety standards.
• Assist with machine troubleshooting and minor maintenance.
• Maintain autonomous maintenance schedule.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
