About The Position

The University of Michigan's Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Statistician to support research projects in collaboration with clinical teams. This role involves applying statistical analysis to health-related questions, developing predictive models, and contributing to medical manuscripts. The position offers opportunities to work with large datasets and to create R Shiny applications to enhance clinical decision-making.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning directly related to this position.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience for Senior Level or 1 - 3 years for Intermediate Level.
  • Skills in using statistical analysis software such as SAS, R, STATA, or Python.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in the medical research field is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet independently with clinical collaborators to discuss research projects.
  • Apply knowledge, skills, and experience of statistical analysis principles to investigate and answer health-related research questions.
  • Write, edit, and document computer programs to clean, manage, and analyze data.
  • Develop and deliver written, graphical, and/or verbal presentations of the data.
  • Co-author medical manuscripts by providing descriptions of statistical methods, statistical analyses, results, tables, and figures.
  • Build R Shiny Apps for implementing prediction models or clinical decision aids.
