Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8+ years of facilities maintenance experience.
  • DC 3rd Steam Engineer License / Stationary Engineer's license.
  • Familiarity with the operations, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications.
  • Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use, HVAC systems control applications.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, ensuring equipment is operating within set parameters and adhering to safety standards.
  • Respond to service calls by determining the problem, identifying the cause, and implementing a solution to address the issues.
  • Complete required documentation utilizing the site CMMS system.
  • Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of the system’s operation.
  • Adjust controls to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet the demands for the service provided.
  • Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
  • Ensure operations adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to stationary equipment operations.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of issues.
  • Act as a first responder during any stationary equipment emergencies, implementing safety procedures and addressing issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, equipment, and best practices in the field, attending workshops and training as necessary.
