About The Position

The position requires a qualified individual to operate, maintain, and repair boiler, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, and power equipment in large commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of air conditioning systems and may be required to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs. The typical shifts are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday and 10:30 am to 7:00 pm Saturday to Wednesday, with the specific shift determined by the Senior Director of Facilities Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of 700 hours of formalized technical instruction relating to Stationary Engineering.
  • Two years of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship for Stationary Engineers or four years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California State Drivers' license in satisfactory standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Johnson Controls Metasys BAS experience.
  • Commercial pool operator certification.
  • NICET fire alarm certification.
  • CFC Certification (refrigerant handling certificate).
