Under general direction from the Chief of Plant Operations I the Stationary Engineer will operate, inspect, maintain, and repair boilers, hot water pumps, boiler room equipment, air conditioning, chillers, cooling towers, chilled water pumps, evaporative coolers, ventilation heating systems, water treatment, air compressors, and other mechanical or electrical equipment. Incumbent will set building temperatures and schedules in Automated Logic WebCTRL; estimate and requisition material and supplies; keep work area, tools, and equipment in good condition; keep records and prepare reports. The Stationary Engineer may work in conjunction with or lead traditional guardsman in several Civil Engineer tradesmen Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs). This position requires highly trained individuals with a strong sense of safety and will be required to work independently as technical supervision at this level is rarely available. Must be able to perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance tasks.
