Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Experience in building maintenance or operations including mechanical and/or pipefitting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Analytical and physical ability to resolve problems; mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and good physical condition also required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read operation manuals, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
  • DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School Diploma
  • Formal apprenticeship program or informal on the job training
  • Experience in power plant operation and maintenance techniques, general equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Fork Lift Operator

Responsibilities

  • Monitors operating status of utilities and equipment providing essential support services by conducting routine inspections and tours of the boiler room, chiller plant, various mechanical equipment areas, and hospital buildings.
  • Performs frequent operational adjustments and routine preventive maintenance to the physical plant and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and failures, determines necessary repairs to equipment, and initiates repairs.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, steam, air conditioning, and related electrical controls, pneumatic control systems, and piping systems.
  • Serves as department call-center on off-hours or as needed. Dispatches trades people as needed.
