About The Position

The Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator Journeyperson at General Motors is responsible for operating and maintaining various industrial equipment, including gas-fired boilers, air compressors, and cooling systems. Requirements

  • Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate as a Stationary Engineer or six years of documented experience as a Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process, including assessments, drug testing, and background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to work flexible shift hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain gas fired boilers and related equipment.
  • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of assigned equipment.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment and related components.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Utilize basic computer skills.
