About The Position

This position is part-time and involves various shifts (7am - 3:30pm, 3pm - 11:30pm, and 11:00pm - 7:30am) plus weekends. The role requires operating all campus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, including boilers, steam absorption and centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps, and systems, ensuring efficiency, safety, and occupant comfort. The incumbent will maintain accurate records and reports on equipment operations and perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems. The position also includes general maintenance tasks and responding to service calls to maintain a safe and efficient environment.

Requirements

  • Stationary Engineer license or Power Engineer certification from recognized organizations.
  • Advanced training beyond High School including technical training.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Stationary Engineering.
  • Moderate knowledge of applicable codes/regulations.
  • Proficient computer skills including CMMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all campus HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and fans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on equipment startup, failures, and maintenance through logbooks and CMMS.
  • Utilize BAS for monitoring and controlling HVAC equipment.
  • Respond to alarms and optimize operations using trending reports.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and other equipment as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC equipment issues and execute repairs with minimal impact to hospital operations.
  • Respond to building occupant complaints and keep them informed of corrective actions.
  • Perform routine general maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
  • Document all tasks and work time on the CMMS.
  • Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.
