About The Position

Basic Functions: Oversee daily station and ambulance operations

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty under the Station Manager job descriptions and have a minimum of six (6) months’ experience working as a Field Supervisor. Employees must be driver trained.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and completion of certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program Basic or Paramedic.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • County certifications for EMT-B or EMT-P, CPR for BLS Provider Certification, Valid California Driver’s License, Medical Examiner’s Certification, Ambulance Drivers Certification, DMV Driving Record in good standing in accordance to insurance company standards.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must use a variety of equipment including gurney, wheelchairs, and other medical and ambulance related devices.

Responsibilities

  • Be an active role model for all field employees at all times
  • Act as the primary point of contact for CHP and LEMSA personnel at assigned station. Oversee initial and annual CHP and LEMSA ambulance inspections. Audit CHP permits after inspections are complete
  • Oversee all operations and ensure cleanliness of assigned station.
  • Oversee station and ambulance supplies at assigned station.
  • Oversee and ensure functionality of ambulance equipment at assigned station. Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Oversee oxygen supply at assigned station.
  • Oversee and coordinate unit utilization and resources at assigned station. Coordinate out of service units’ movement with Fleet Services.
  • Oversee and complete daily safety checklist and quarterly station safety audits in collaboration with Risk and Safety Department. Perform and keep a log of OSHA safety checks at assigned station. Address safety issues at assigned station immediately and escalate to Operations Regional Manager when appropriate.
  • Oversee station quarterly all-staff meetings and Townhall meetings
  • Oversee, evaluate, and assign daily tasks for Field Supervisors and Lead-FTOs
  • Oversee related specialty operations as assigned.
  • Ensure performance and conduct standards are being met by our Field Supervisors to include compliance of Operative IQ checkouts and unit cleanliness. Ensure compliance with CHP and LEMSA inventory requirements.
  • Ensure Field Supervisor, Lead-FTOs, FTOs and crews are adhering to NORCAL Ambulance policies, practices, and procedures and issue discipline when appropriate.
  • Process expense reports for Field Supervisor, Lead-FTOs, FTOs and crews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
