Job Summary The Station Manager - Fuel is responsible for leading, developing, and driving the overall strategic direction and business plan for comprehensive into-plane fueling services and tank farm operations at the airport. This role orchestrates an ongoing planning process which produces a clear and compelling vision and mid- to long-term business objectives. The position directs all aspects of day-to-day fueling operations at the station/local business unit level, including management of fuel infrastructure, fuel quality control, and into-plane fueling operations, ensuring efficiency and performance in accordance with corporate objectives, strategy, and plans. The pay for this role is $125,000 - $155,000 Yearly

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent; advanced degree in related field or professional certifications are advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with P&L responsibility and fueling operations management, preferably in the aviation industry
  • Proven experience managing into-plane fueling operations and tank farm facilities
  • Strong background in fuel quality control, inventory management, and fuel handling safety protocols
  • Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices, financial concepts, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance
  • Comprehensive understanding of aviation fuel specifications, fuel quality standards, and contamination prevention
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations including NFPA 407, API standards, IATA standards, ATA standards, environmental regulations, and aviation fuel handling safety requirements
  • Familiarity with fuel management systems, inventory control software, and quality tracking systems
  • Strong strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams to deliver high quality standards
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and motivate at all levels
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional internal and external work relationships with all stakeholders and interest groups

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, monitor, and manage all into-plane fueling operations and tank farm performance to ensure increased profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency
  • Manage fuel inventory levels, fuel quality assurance programs, and fuel storage facility operations in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor fueling turnaround times, fuel uplift accuracy, and service delivery metrics to maintain competitive advantage and compliance
  • Ensure optimal utilization of fueling vehicles, refueler trucks, and tank farm equipment
  • Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in fueling infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other assets and resources
  • Analyze and approve operational investments that best meet the organization's business needs
  • Monitor and track the financial performance and ensure that accounts and records of all transactions are maintained, including fuel reconciliation and inventory management
  • Maintain P&L responsibility for all fueling operations and tank farm activities
  • Monitor and track quality standards of fueling operations and tank farm operation, ensuring continuous improvements in workflows and services
  • Implement fuel quality control procedures, contamination prevention protocols, and fuel testing programs in accordance with IATA, API, and ATA Spec 103 standards
  • Drive process improvements in fueling efficiency, fuel management systems, and tank farm operations
  • Lead, guide, evaluate, and develop a team with operational responsibilities, including fueling supervisors, into-plane agents, tank farm operators, and quality control personnel
  • Ensure that the organization achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant aviation fuel handling regulations and laws
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence within the fueling operations team
  • Provide training and development opportunities specific to fueling operations, fuel safety, and tank farm management
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all key stakeholders, including airlines, airport authority, fuel suppliers, customs, and other regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with airlines on fueling requirements, service level agreements, and operational procedures
  • Liaise with fuel suppliers and quality control laboratories to ensure fuel specification compliance
  • Collaborate with airport fire and rescue services on emergency response planning for fueling incidents
  • Implement, oversee, and monitor all safety and security measures and KPIs related to people, equipment, facilities, aircraft, and fuel infrastructure involved in the operation
  • Maintain rigorous fuel spill prevention and response procedures, and fire safety protocols
  • Conduct regular safety audits of fueling operations, tank farm facilities, and fuel handling procedures
  • Ensure all fueling personnel maintain required certifications and aviation fuel handling qualifications
