The Statewide Organizer will work to build regional and statewide power for moving the immigrant justice agenda forward by leading campaigns and coalitions; maintaining existing, and establishing new partnerships with key stakeholders; as well as building the capacity of individuals and organizations to participate in community organizing efforts and policy campaigns such as detention and deportation, economic justice, and health and public benefits. In addition, the Statewide Organizer supports broader movement-building efforts, works on organization-wide priorities such as a statewide immigrant lobbying day, and ensures that the voices of community groups are represented in CIPC’s budgetary and legislative agenda. The Statewide Organizer will be part of CIPC’s Organizing department and will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives or Associate Director of Movement Building. This position can be based anywhere in California, with a preference for Central Coast, Central Valley, Northern California, Bay Area, Inland Empire, or San Diego with travel to our other offices and locations as necessary.
