About The Position

The Statewide Mobility Lead (Program Coordinator III) at MassDOT is responsible for leading the implementation of a Statewide Mobility Management program funded by a two-year grant from the Federal Transit Administration. This role involves coordinating efforts to enhance community transportation services, building relationships with various stakeholders, and ensuring equitable access to transportation for individuals with disabilities and older adults. The position requires a collaborative approach to problem-solving and aims to facilitate cross-regional travel and learning among mobility managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • At least four years of professional experience in business administration, management, or public administration, with one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and older adults.
  • Administrative and supervisory experience in program management or coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with community transportation services such as fixed-route transit, micro transit, and ADA paratransit.
  • Familiarity with transportation initiatives and challenges faced by older adults and people with disabilities.
  • Willingness to travel around the Commonwealth for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Regional Mobility Manager study conducted by MassDOT in 2023.
  • Identify long-term funding and define regions for the mobility management program.
  • Work with partners to finalize and implement a plan for hiring and hosting Regional Mobility Managers.
  • Plan and run the Massachusetts Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility (MA-CCAM).
  • Build and maintain relationships with MA-CCAM members and recruit additional agencies and consumers.
  • Engage with Regional Transit Authorities and community transportation stakeholders to understand their challenges and goals.
  • Provide technical assistance to community transportation providers when requested.
  • Facilitate peer learning and connections among community transportation practitioners.
  • Document promising practices through webpages and newsletters.
  • Attend local and regional meetings to gather information on community needs and offer transportation information.
  • Convene events related to community transportation, including webinars and forums.
  • Facilitate peer networks for travel trainers and mobility managers.
  • Assist in cataloging community transportation providers and support Ride Match initiatives.
  • Promote coordination of transportation services to reduce duplication.
  • Develop an equity-focused approach to mobility management, particularly for Justice40 communities.
  • Stay updated on national trends in mobility management and participate in relevant webinars and events.
  • Provide technical assistance to Community Transit Grant Program applicants and subrecipients.
  • Track progress and prepare reports on mobility management initiatives.
