About The Position

UC Health is hiring a PRN State Tested Nursing Assistant for the varied shift at Daniel Drake Center. The State Tested Nursing Assistant provides basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical professional personnel in accordance with delegation law and rules and current education. The STNA maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment for patients and visitors. Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care is the regions premier provider of post-acute and transitional care services, offering a complete range of inpatient and outpatient services including medically complex care, skilled nursing, assisted living, wellness services and research. Daniel Drake Center helps patients recover from catastrophic injury and illness including multi-system organ failure, complex wound care, traumatic brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury. Daniel Drake is the only hospital-based skilled nursing facility in the Cincinnati region. Patients at Daniel Drake Center have access to many hospital-based services including 24/7 on-site physician coverage, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, wound care and specialty physician consulting services. The availability of these on-site services allows for quick response to the complex and evolving care needs for our patients.

Requirements

• Ohio STNA Certification required
• Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum Required: 0-6 Months of experience required

Nice To Haves

• Preferred: 1 - 2 Years equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical professional personnel in accordance with delegation law and rules and current education.
• Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
• Engages in population appropriate communication.
• Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
• Notifies RN on duty if patient's demeanor, consciousness or physical appearance changes.
• Provides all patient care in a manner that is culturally based and age specific.
• Measures vital signs, records observation of skin integrity, intake & output, height & weight (bedside or w/c scale); reports all changes including mental status.
• Specimen collection: routine urine, clean catch urine, 24-hour urine, collection of self-expectorant sputum.
