About The Position

Position Overview: The Assistant Football Coach for the IMG Academy State Team plays a critical role in the development of student-athletes within a high-performance, nationally competitive environment. This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting athletes both on and off the field while contributing to the overall execution of the Athlete Development Model. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, detail-oriented coach who is passionate about player development, team culture, and preparing student-athletes for the next level. Key Responsibilities: On-Field Coaching & Player Development: Assist in planning and executing daily practices, meetings, and game preparation Coach a specific position group, including skill development, film review, and performance tracking Teach and reinforce offensive, defensive, or special teams systems as directed by the Head Coach Provide individualized coaching aligned with each athlete’s development plan (IDP) Athlete Development & Mentorship: Support the holistic development of student-athletes (athletic, academic, and personal) Build strong relationships that foster accountability, discipline, and growth Contribute to end-of-year evaluations and ongoing player assessments Program Execution: Assist with game day operations, opponent scouting, and film breakdown Ensure alignment with IMG Academy football standards, systems, and culture Support integration of ADM pathways including Train, Develop, Compete, Perform, and Excel Recruiting & Engagement: Assist in identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes Support prospect engagement events (e.g., camps, prospect days, visit experiences) Represent IMG Academy Football in a professional and positive manner Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with performance, sports medicine, academics, and operations teams Participate in staff meetings, department workshops, and ongoing professional development Communicate effectively with players, parents, and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or elite youth level
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, techniques, and systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coaching at a nationally competitive high school or collegiate program
  • Proven ability to develop athletes for college placement
  • Experience with film systems (HUDL or similar)
  • Background in strength & conditioning or performance integration
