About The Position

The Structured Products Senior Desk Analyst at State Street Global Advisors is responsible for leading credit research and security selection for Non-Agency RMBS investments within the Fixed Income, Cash & Currency (FICC) department. This role involves providing fundamental credit opinions, valuation analyses, and supporting portfolio managers in daily portfolio construction efforts. The analyst will utilize quantitative modeling skills and expertise in mortgage securitization to contribute to the broader structured products and ABS investment strategies.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of experience in real estate and/or structured products with experience in Non-Agency mortgages.
  • CFA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the structural nuances that govern securitization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and incorporate multiple risk profiles in investment recommendations.
  • Proficiency with EXCEL and industry-standard platforms such as Bloomberg, Intex, and Trepp.

  • Experience with securitization cash flow modeling.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead credit research and security selection for Non-Agency RMBS investments.
  • Contribute analytical responsibilities for a broad set of structured investment products, including esoteric ABS sectors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with street research and trading desks, industry strategists, and credit rating agency analysts.
  • Review primary and secondary market Non-Agency RMBS investments to determine suitability for managed portfolios, including qualitative and quantitative analysis of underlying loans.
  • Make purchase and sale recommendations based on credit profile and valuation.
  • Synthesize real estate market conditions to create/update scenarios for analyzing Non-Agency RMBS investments.
  • Review legal documents related to securitization investments and evaluate structural nuances.
  • Lead ongoing portfolio construction, analysis, and monthly surveillance of structured product and ABS holdings in Active Fixed Income funds.
  • Contribute to top-down sector risk targeting discussions.
