About The Position
Round Lake State Park is seeking a dedicated Park Ranger to help maintain and enhance this scenic destination. As a Park Ranger, you'll play a vital role in preserving the park's natural beauty, maintaining recreational facilities, and ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors. You will provide information to visitors about the park's history, wildlife, and recreation opportunities while ensuring compliance with park rules and regulations. You will have the opportunity to develop interpretive programs and educate visitors on the natural and cultural significance of the area. Additionally, you will assist with park operations by collecting fees, supporting special events, and working alongside local enforcement agencies to promote public safety and protect park resources. Park maintenance will also be a key aspect of this position, as you will be responsible for keeping facilities, trails, and recreation areas in top condition. This may include basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and grounds maintenance, as well as operating and maintaining equipment such as mowers, backhoes, and hand tools. Park Rangers also monitor and address potential safety hazards, ensuring that visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience.
