About the position
The Kentucky State Park Ranger Division has an opening at Cumberland Falls State Resort for a State Park Ranger I. A Kentucky State Park Ranger enforces laws on Kentucky State Park properties, protecting our guests and property, and providing a safe environment. Shifts may vary depending on the needs of the park. The Kentucky State Park Ranger at times may provide services to our guests such as trail rescues, first aid, and provide general information such as area attractions and information regarding assigned park. Must have 1 year of law enforcement experience as a sworn police officer.
Responsibilities
- Enforce laws on Kentucky State Park properties.
- Protect guests and property.
- Provide a safe environment.
- Perform trail rescues and first aid.
- Provide general information about area attractions and assigned park.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- One year of law enforcement experience as a sworn police officer.
- Must be twenty-one years of age.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Nice-to-haves
- Working knowledge of Kentucky Revised Statutes.
- Ability to quickly learn the policies and procedures of the Kentucky State Parks and Ranger Division.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use basic computer programs.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
