About The Position
This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer. If you are not a current peace officer and in possession of a POST - Academy, Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Certificate, you are not eligible for this position. The reporting location for this position is Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area in Borrego Springs, CA. This position works under the direction of the Superintendent III. This is a very diverse assignment full of challenges ranging from law enforcement calls for service, medical aid response, and search and rescue at a dynamic district that includes Ocotillo Wells SVRA, Picacho SRA, Salton Sea SRA, Indio Hills Property, and Heber Dunes SRA. This position supports the District wide Public Safety Program and will be assigned to provide services at other units within the district based on the operational need. Incumbent may also assist with special event review, and oversight of seasonal employees or volunteers, the Field Training Program, and Interagency Coordination. This position works actively with Public Safety agencies from San Diego County, Riverside County, Imperial County California, Yuma and La Paz Counties in Arizona, and the Federal Government.
