The State Tax Analyst will perform the daily compliance operations of the state tax department which includes preparation of the consolidated federal tax return, state and local income/franchise tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, and responding to notices. This person will also assist other tax department members with corporate tax research, planning, and federal and state tax audits.

Requirements

  • Accounting degree; CPA/CPA eligible preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • One to three years of experience in large corporate environment for publicly-traded
  • company, and/or public accounting with a preference for Big 4 or large regional firm
  • Personal drive to develop self and others
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience with corporate tax preparation software

Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal, state and local corporate income tax returns
  • Prepare and assist with review of federal, state and local partnership returns
  • Prepare federal and state quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Compile information and answer questions for quarterly provision and other internal users
  • Maintain accuracy of state net operating loss schedule
  • Respond to tax notices and information document requests (IDRs)
  • Other duties as assigned
