Requirements

  • Senior level experience in government affairs or public policy.
  • Strong understanding of state and local government processes and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze legislative impacts on business.
  • Experience in developing and executing public policy strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of North American Public Policy to develop and execute comprehensive state and local government strategies.
  • Assist in developing strategic state public policy agendas and advocacy plans for the company.
  • Monitor, research, and communicate on legislation and regulations that could impact BorgWarner's products or business.
  • Represent BorgWarner with state and local government officials, discussing issues impacting the company's current and future products or business.
  • Create internal awareness of regional political environments and public policymaking that can impact the mobility industry and propulsion technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Economic Development team to support relationships with state executive branches and other state agencies.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather and provide data and information to assess potential impacts of pending legislation or regulations.
  • Write letters, policies, and proposals to meet the company's public policy needs.
  • Prepare and make presentations to executive management and government officials as required.
  • Lead communications with government audiences and support government visits to BorgWarner's facilities.
