Requirements

  • Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).
  • Knowledge of engineering design, construction, production and operations.
  • Knowledge of department Leadership principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and management.
  • Skills in the Department’s CADD software and CADD standards.
  • Ability to solve problems relating to engineering.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate engineering information effectively.
  • Ability to employ supervisory practices to achieve effective results from employees.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and track a budget and contracts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises employees spending the majority of the time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work.
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates on a statewide basis, the Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) technology and associated activities for the Department.
  • Direct and supervise the office in the production of policies, procedures, manuals, and guidelines related to CADD technology.
  • Provides input into the update of the Department’s Information Technology Resource Plan and the proposed spending plan of funds managed by the Department that address the hardware needs for the CADD program.
